Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works if you can't solder I just bought this to replace an outside tap where I couldn't solder because the pipe was tight against a joist. I've soldered plumbing all my life, but thought I'd try this "new technology" for "non-plumbers". Deburring and aligning was the biggest challenge. I had to hammer the final connection, even though that's not recommended, but it didn't leak. I hope it lasts my lifetime like a solder joint would. .Recommended if you're not sure about your soldering skills.Engineering wise, there's no reason it's not going to work for a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do it right and you won't have any issue Ensure you remove any rough edges inside and outside the cut. Also use a proper pipe cut tool for a straight cut!!! Works awesome...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product deserves 5 stars! I am sold on this solution! Consider the costs of calling a Plumber? Or, If you can soldier copper, concidering the space, fire hazard, or incomplete connections, because there is a little water in the pipe. This is the best solution, just make sure the inside of your pipe is smooth as well. Clean, debited, 90 degree or close cut. Absolutely fool proof!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from When the Shark Bites... The shark bite was a godsend when I replumbed the cottage. Replaced as much copper as I could and have not had a pipe break since. Was a yearly occurrence with the copper in an impossible to drain system. Ease of use and the ability to take apart joints after the fact. Highly recommended. Price overshadowed by utility.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy with repair I used non shark bite 1/2 inch pex pipe and ot seemed to work fine although the manufacturer advises to use shark bite pex pipe. It was easy to assemble without crimpers or crimping tool which is why I went with this simple solution to my pipe repair. I recommend this product for beginner diy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Shark Bite Connectors These are super for copper connections. Personally I don't feel as comfortable with PEX connections. I had a couple drips on a two different PEX connections when I first restored the water pressure.. No further issue after the initial drips, but my confidence is shaken.

How far in do I need to push the fitting onto pipe?  Some fittings say 1”.  This fitting does not specify.

Asked by: Fred
Off the top, push in until it stops.  For sure 3/4”. I took a piece of plastic, ad inserted to where it stopped.  It measured so close to 3/4”, if it was different it would be only perhaps +- 1/16” Hope this helps
