The drawers have cut-out handles, so your kids don't get hurt when they climb out of bed. This super-robust children's bunk bed is made entirely from solid wood. South Shore Furniture always meets current standards, so we've made sure this piece is very safe, with spaced ladder rungs and raised edges around the top bunk. We recommend the use of a mattress less than 7½" thick. As a safety measure, children less than 6 years old shouldn't sleep in the top bunk.
