Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall a great timer I have been using this timer for approximately one month to water my garden and back yard. Pros: 1) Easy set up. I have it set to water every 4 hours for 10 minutes between 8 am to 8 pm, 7 days a week. But you can easily customize it to what you want. 2) Good fit. No leaks at all and it's sturdy when connected 3) If you have to water manually, it's just a couple presses of the button and your good to go. 4) Rain delay setting is easy to use and saves your from being "that guy" who's watering in the middle of a rain storm. Cons: 1) battery life won't last you an entire summer but they are easy to replace. Just check the level before you go on an extended trip. 2) I added the "Melnor" wireless Moisture sensor and that drastically decreased battery life. Conclusion - I recommend this product. Only 4 stars due to battery life.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Only last for ONE summer (5 months) I bought this in about June 2021 for my vegetable garden and used it for about 5 months. I stored it inside my house in winter. Yesterday I reinstalled in and found water was dripping from the holes at the bottom. I brought it back to Home Depot Southkey store in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada for an exchange of a new one. The staff (Tracy) at the Return Counter refused an exchange or gave me store credit so that I could buy a new one. She asked me to call the supplier company who made/makers Vigoro water time. I am very upset and disappointed to have paid $70 Home Depot for a water timer that only worked for just 5 months. Home Depot should not carry/sell such product which is not fair to consumers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use and reliable Has been working well for the past couple months. Only trick was with the initial install, I had to turn the water on slowly and cycle the valve a couple of times using the manual mode in order to get it to initially close the valve. Since then I've moved it twice to different taps without any issues. I have been using it with a soaker hose but I'm sure it would work well for other uses too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Helpful Really handy, no issues. It’s installed on the shady part of my house so it isn’t getting cooked in the sun all day - not sure how much that helps. Wish I bought the double outlet version instead of the single.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece of crap/expensive clock I bought this about a month and half ago and it consistently fails to open it's valve for automatic watering. When I try to perform a manual cycle, it again, consistently fails to open the valve. Feel a little like every time I push the button for manual watering I'm playing a game of water roulette! It shows it's manually watering but I plainly see it's not. Will never buy a product from this manufacturer again

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent timer! I had been using a product similar to this until the battery compartment fell apart so I purchased this Vigoro with the hopes that it would last. The only difference is the name. Good quality build and easy to use!

Hi there, if I connect this to the faucet and open the faucet fully will this timer automatically  control the water pressure up to 80psi?

Asked by: Hannah
Yes, the faucet must be open, however it does not control water pressure. It simply allows the water to flow at your set times. Adjust your pressure at the tap if required.

Timer stopped working; went on, but would NOT turn off. Tried cleaning, leaving batteries out, and manually activating. Hear the click, but does not open/close any more. Ideas?

Asked by: Graham
Let’s have you try a valve reset. Step 1: Turn water OFF at the spigot. Step 2: Move the arrow on the timer to the Off position. Step 3: Press the On/Off Manual button (DROP), press the Zone button, choose the problem valve, hit the + (plus) button and put 1 min on it. Step 4: You’ll see a watering faucet animation. Wait for the full minute to elapse. Step 5: Repeat the process for any other valves with the same problem. Step 6: Slowly turn the faucet back on. The water should have stopped. Step 7: Press the On/Off Manual button, put 1 minute on it and choose a zone to make sure water is now coming from the problem zone or zones and stopping when it should. If this doesn't work, please submit a warranty claim at www.melnor.com and attach a photo of the full timer, and one of our representatives will assist you further.

What kind of batteries does this unit require?

Asked by: Ramona
AA. I suggest using Energizer Max or an equivalent as they don't seem to drain as fast. I can get a summer out of my Max batteries but only a couple weeks out of the weaker ones.

I bought this and it worked well on manual mode for several times. Now it does nothing. It looks like its watering but there is no water flowing.

I just bought the Vigoro 1 Zone water timer. I used it a couple of times and it seems to work great. I'm having an issue clearing the previous days and times and creating new ones. I don't see a link to clear all previous times. Can someone help?
