Rated 3 out of 5 by from Keylock system The Roma Birdbath is holding up well. It holds a fair amount of water and the birds are enjoying it. The only aspect of this birdbath (and others made by the same company) that I don't like is the key-lock system that holds the bath to the stand. I find it difficult to unlock and therefore have to tilt the whole contraption (bath and stand) in order to get the water out for cleaning. I would prefer a system where the bath sits on the stand and can be lifted straight off without any twisting.

How deep is the bath itself?

It is pretty deep, eventually the inside cracks and the water leaks out, I was not impressed at all. Don&rsquo;t waste your money, a cement one would be better!

What is this made with? Do I need to fill the base with gravel?

This birdbath is made with NuCrete&reg;, which is an alternative concrete material that uses fiber for reinforcement and strength, providing the strength, appearance, and durability of traditional concrete products, without the cumbersome weight. That said, this item ways 25 lbs when fully assembled. Provided it is placed on a flat, level surface, you should not need to add anything to the base.

My two Roma birdbaths purchased 2 years ago have developed leaks in the basin area. Can the tops be replaced. My birdies love them, I love my birdies.
