Rated 2 out of 5 by from Easy to Wreck Used this pump once to transfer diesel from one tank to another. Seemed to work well. However, it seems this pump is very easy to burn out if you don't prime it properly. There is a rubber impeller inside that will overheat and shred if you run it dry even for 15 seconds.

Can the pump be run with a closed discharge for short time intervals? I would like to use it to water plants from a portable water supply. I would like to leave the pump running while shutting off the flow between plants.

    Asked by: Marco
Marco, This pump is not designed for that type of application. Running the pump without allowing the water to discharge can cause serious damage to the product.

I want to empty a water tank in the basement. I have no drain in the basement so it has to go up the stairs one floor to the yard. Is this pump strong enough to lift water about ten feet?

    Asked by: LEBar
LEBar, This would not be a recommended application for this pump. There would be other options available depending on some other specifics of your job at hand. Please contact us at 844-883-1872.

    Asked by: Molduf
Molduf - I would not recommend the drill pump for a distance of 75' Customer Service

Can this pump be used to pump oil to do oil changes?

    Asked by: Anonymous
Yes. Use the smaller diameter hose (included) to pump the oil right out of the dipstick tube! It is a very convenient way to perform oil changes on small engines. Always remember to prime the pump with oil according to the instruction manual to avoid damage to the impeller. Thanks, Everbilt Customer Service
