Almost no learning curve. Works as promised. Before purchasing I researched many sprayers and narrowed it down to the Wagner flexio 990 and the graco 360 VSP. The Wagner 990 got terrible reviews to I marked that off my list. I went to home depot to purchase the 360VSP and next to it on the shelf was the DSP for about $80 less. The only difference between the 2 sprayers is the DSP has a "HIGH-LOW" switch and the VSP has a dial to change the flow of paint. I used it to stain a 200 foot fence, both sides in 4 hours...AMAZING.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Had to return my new Graco First timed I used my new sprayer it worked well for about 15 minutes and then just stopped. I noticed in this time the gun itself gotten very hot to the touch in areas. After assuming and then confirming through the troubleshooting guide it was the motor that had overheated. It took 30 for it to cool down and start working again and then the same result. Don't know if the gun I had was just defective or not but I returned it nonetheless. I also found it challenging to clean. My other concern was it just seemed to be void of any real adjustments in terms of spray pattern or pressure. I know that Graco makes good sprayers I just cannot recommend this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy painting, less mess [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This sprayer is a neat way to make painting a lot easier with less mess. It's very easy to manage. The cups are very small, and require frequent stops to refill which may be a small draw back compared to traditional methods of painting with pan and brush or roller. You can pre-fill all the cups with paint if painting a large room in order to keep your flow. I still enjoyed the no spatter, worries about spilling of paint, and no accidents. A good tool for individuals wanting to paint small and large areas neatly. The paint applies evenly, avoiding drips and patches.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What took me so long?! I build and paint furniture for others and myself. Much of it is painted with chalk paint. I resisted buying a paint sprayer because I thought the messiness of the cleanup would negate the time saved. Finally, I had a very detailed bench to paint for a client and I knew it was a big, painful job. So, I checked out the reviews online and chose this sprayer. Brilliant move! The cleanup took about 10 minutes and the sprayer saved me at least 12 hours. I have since sprayed several things. I want to throw my brushes away! Works great with chalk paint and is ideal for small jobs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Best for small jobs [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The paint sprayer comes conveniently contained in a blue carrying case that neatly stores all the sprayer and equipment and snaps shut. Unfortunately, the size of the paint cans are rather small and require frequent refilling if you have a lot of space to cover. It does a good job of coating the surface well, I have used it multiple times to paint wall a flat white. Sadly, the other reviews are correct, the device does over-heat. You have to either wait for it to cool down, or stick it in your fridge or freezer. Cleanup is also cumbersome, but I feel that comes with the territory of paint in general.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Overheats Quickly I write this to save the next person aggravation. I have a larger Graco sprayer and it is great but was looking for something to handle smaller jobs, this sprayer was not it. I should have payed more attention to the previous review about the sprayer overheating. This sprayer was fine until 10 or 15 minutes into the job and it quit due to overheating. I had to put it in my freezer for 10 minutes to get it back in action again. I repeated this process several times in order to finish the job. I am a loyal Home Depot shopper for thirty years now and the good news to this story is that once again Home Depot made the return painless.

After spraying over head I returned the paint gun to table. No matter how delicately i tried to open container to refill the paint would drip down the sides or get on the gun making it extremely messy. I am an experienced auto body painter so this wasn't my first time to use a paint gun system. It did however spray with ease and the pattern was good. The video makes it look easy but I assume it has not been tilted 90 degrees to allow paint to get on edges of liner. Besides the messy changeout of the bag it is FAR ABOVE A WAGNER OR OTHER BRANDS JUST NEEDS SOME ENGINEERING TO ALLOW EASY REFILL

This was my first experience with an airless paint sprayer and I was impressed with this product. I used this product on August 4th, 20th to paint unfinished cabinets and a few projects I made using MDF.It took a few tries to really understand how to use it, I squeezed the bag as instructed and it worked the first time. When I tried to use it a few minutes later the paint was not coming out. When you squeeze the bag, you simply have to squeeze it until paint comes through the small section with the lid. Once I realized that I had no problem with it. It is best to stay at least 10" away when using the spraying. I was debating on getting this or the cordless one, the fact that this model was in the store and the price made me go with this one. Although, after using it I wish I went with the cordless option so that I do not have to worry about the cord getting in the way.

Will this sprayer work with killz water base primer? Or any recommendations on what sprayer to purchase?

Asked by: Mrdiy
I used Kilz Adhesion primer on a mobile home and it worked great. I did filter my primer and made sure I was in the recommended temperature range.

Why can I only paint 25 gallons a year with this product. Will it only paint 25 gallons and then break please explain

Asked by: Concerned
It's not that you can't it's that it's not worth it. The cup only holds a quart so your going to be refiling it a lot which is annoying and time consuming. You're better off buying one that can draw directly from the paint can.

Does this product really have an issue with overheating quickly?

Some reviews say this product is great...others mention it has a big issue with over heating of this unit. I would like to know if over heating is really an issue or not before I consider a purchase.
Asked by: Anonymous
Hello, There is no specific issue with the TrueCoat 360 DSP overheating without cause. Some things that may cause the TrueCoat 360DSP to overheat would be using a too long or too thin gauged extension cord, removing the ground plug from the power cord or using an extension cord with the ground plug removed, or inadequate power supply. Can I line the cup liner with a plastoc bag?

So I do not have to keep buying new liners. Can I place a bag to line the throw away cup so I do not have to keep buying new liners. I do not like having to spend money just to use a tool. Which is what this system does. Plus the Graco liners not in stock ever.
Asked by: ToolGod
You would be safer just washing out and reusing originals. Could be pretty messy.

Can shellac be used with this sprayer?

Can shellac be used with this sprayer?
Asked by: Maggie
Should work with Shellac. I would not expect it to produce a good finish spraying Shellac, you would be better off with an HVLP spray gun if you want a smooth finish. I own 2 Graco regular pump sprayers, one more than 30 years old both are good. I purchased the trucoat over other brands with confidence Graco wouldn't put there name on junk. I was wrong. This is a underperforming sprayer you need to thin your paint down to what is needed for an air type spray gun for it to operate. We found to spray latex it must be thinned at least 30% and maybe more for thicker high end latex. I would not recommend this spray gun.
