Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product made by Heath Zenith Purchased it 2 days ago and planned to replace with our old one that is no longer chime. After open the package found this is made by Heath Zenith. Home depot also sell the Heath Zenith Wired Chime Kit SL-27102-01 for $21.98 only. (Included the transformer and 2 push button). Why pay $29.96 for the same product with only the door chime?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works fine with a little fiddling around Had trouble with this unit out of the box - low volume and only a single tone on the front door bell. Also had a lot of grief from the instructions, which specify a supply of 18-22 VAC and instruct you to replace your transformer if it produces less than 18 V. There are no common transformers which provide 18 V and furthermore, all commonly available ring buttons are rated for only 16 V. Spent a frustrating day checking voltages, hanging it upside down hoping that gravity would assist the piston action, shopping for compatible ring buttons and transformers on-line. In the end, a small simple modification to the spring on one of the 'pistons' solved this - stretch the spring out just a bit to get more force from the spring and hence a stronger strike on the sound bar. Extend the spring too much, though, and the sound will get muffled. Works reliably and loudly when fed 14.5 V from my old transformer. OK for the price paid.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent with room for improvement This is a decent door chime, with one exception which is the mounting screws included with the unit. They're flathead screws, not Robertson or Phillips, which makes them hard to screw in. They're also juuuuuuust barely big enough to secure the unit. If you purchase this unit, I suggest you replace the screws with ones that have a larger head.

Reversed Sounds for doorbells

Hi there, Bought a replacement for the doorbell. Works fine except the doorbell chime for front door becomes the back and vice versa. Initially thought it must be wiring problem. Checked - looks fine and correct to me. What should I do next?
Asked by: Anonymous
Just to check, have you tried swapping the wires for the front and back door? If so, does the problem persist?
