Paulin's Flat Washers are designed to be used with nuts, bolts and screws to help reduce the pressure applied on a surface. They can also be used as spacers. When used on wooden projects, washers prevent screws from from boring into wood and weakening it. Zinc-plating provides moderate corrosion resistance. Use with fasteners of the same material.
Flat washers are great for adding resistance to your bolts and screws that will provide a greater bearing surface under the fastener to prevent them from boring into the surface and weakening it. Used behind a nut or screw head to distribute load and to prevent material from buckling or screw pull-through. Washer sizes are specified by the bolt or screw diameter and should be matched to ensure proper fit. Flat Washers are free from burrs and have smooth, flat surfaces. These washers are finished with a hot dipped galvanized finish and have excellent corrosion resistance. Use hot dipped galvanized finish or stainless steel where corrorsion is and rust is of concern or for exterior applications. Hot dipped galvanized finish provides one of the highest degree of corrosion resistance when compared to a steel zinc finish. Ideal for outdoor projects such as decks, fences, wood structures and with treated lumber installations.
S.A.E. Steel Washers are made from strip steel; have bright, smooth, flat surfaces; are highly polished and are free from burrs.
Made from medium carbon steel, tempered and zinc plated. Best for areas where high strength is desired. Similar in strength to SAE Grade 5.
