The MetalTech Saferstack 2-Story Rolling Scaffold Tower offers a complete scaffold set reaching two sections high with safety guardrails, platform and caster wheels. Stacking in 30% less space than regular frames, the Saferstack frames interlock for safer storage and transport, creating a secure scaffolding system. Several peices needed to be fit with a hammer due to poor fit. These are more affordable than some of the competitors scaffolding and I think it shows. With that said, I don’t regret purchasing them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works as expected I bought this product in various parts from a store in the spring of 2009, and to date no issues or problems. the frames even sat outside for 2 years beside my garage, and showed little signs of rust. any rust was surface, and I cleaned them up easily. the platforms work fine, and have no issues with them. I work in the film industry, and these platforms have performed fine. the only thing i can say is that home depot does not offer the safety barriers separate for this product in store or online. which I don't understand. other than that, i found it good value for my money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from You Get What You Pay For Bought this scaffold during an on-line promotion in July - the price was $799 at that time. The premium Bil-Jax brand scaffold that I had wanted was going for about $1,600 used and $2,000 new, and was difficult to find for quick delivery. Knowing Home Depot had a 90 day return policy, I decided to see what the Metal Tech saferstack scaffold looked like. Shipping only took about a week but there were some problems. One of the four end frames had a bend in the ladder portion and had to be replaced. Also all the cross braces as well as all the safety rails were lost in shipping so I could not assemble the unit. Home Depot and Metal Tech were swell about replacing the parts, but it took another week before I received them. The tower unit seems sturdy enough when assembled. It doesn't sway or move much when you climb up the ladder. The three deck sections also appear sturdy and feel solid when I stand on them (I weigh 230 pounds). The 8 inch casters roll nicely on grass (my lot is fairly level but not totally flat) and the locking levers appear to work fine. Things that I don't like about this unit are: The blue powder coating on the frame pieces is chipped and missing in spots and just doesn't look like it will hold up for the long haul, especially if left out in the weather. The four guard rail corner posts are difficult to fit onto the frames and use a very crude wedge type locking arrangement to retain them. The clearances on this locking mechanism is the part that makes it difficult to fit over the vertical portion of the frame. Finally, installation of the diagonal brace (which helps to keep the unit square) is not intuitive whatsoever. It installs on two of the same studs that the cross braces attach to, but the way the ends of the diagonal are configured, you would never know that that's where they get attached. Again, it went on, but with difficulty and could have been designed much better. All in all, this unit will work out for my exterior painting project. It's sturdy and functional and the price was right.

Are you able to add to this scaffold to make it higher or is this the maximum height allowable for this design?

Hi, Thank you for your question. Yes you can add any Metaltech brand 5' wide frame and 7' cross brace (sections) to the structure. The maximum standing height of this model scaffold is 15 ft. One can go higher if the structure is attached to a sound structure or if the base is widened with available Metaltech outriggers. Note, for your safety, use the included guardrail system to prevent falls. -Richard
