Rated 4 out of 5 by from Honest Review From a Carpenter I've had this knife for about three years now, so I may be able to offer some actual information for those who need some. This knife is fairly reliable, cheap, and durable. The blade is a relatively soft steel, so sharpening to a razor edge is quick and painless, but it obviously loses that edge quickly as well, I'd recommend sharpening it with a medium-coarse stone, any more than that isn't worth it since it will lose the edge in a short time. I've been using it to make notches in lumber by placing the place where I want it and striking the spine with a hammer, the soft steel stops it from snapping off and instead leaves a few dents on the spine. It's nothing you'd carry if your life depended on it, but it's also a cheap knife that I can honestly say is worth the money.

The Knife Fastback Release system is Great but the Blade Steel is cheap and doesn’t hold a sharp edge for more than 2 days. I have to sharpen it weekly. Also the wire clip hooks on things and Bends VERY EASILY. It is frustrating to bend back and reattach to the knife.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great knife just 1 pretty big downfall Bought this knife about a week ago. Opens great. Love the look. Great ergonomics. Blade come able to cut hairs out of the package, but, the blade is weak. I used it to clean styrofoam out of a hole dozer. Being very careful not to catch the blade on the hole saw. Edge is now chipped in 6 different spots and is now fairly dulled. Love Milwaukee. Love this product. But maybe if you buy don’t take to work. Not intended for everyday construction use unless you wanna sharpen the blade after one day of use like I now have to.

I really wanted to like this knife and upgrade it from the Fastback utility knife that I usually carry, but it's wasted money because it just sits in my toolbox now. I decided not to make it my main carry for two main reasons. The first is that the flip doesn't feel as smooth as my other Fastback, so with this knife I often end up only opening it halfway or 3/4s of the way. I have tried oiling the hinge, but it seems like something is binding up somewhere. Maybe it'll get better with use. The other reason is the clip design. For some reason, the clip design is different on this Fastback, and it is larger and more bulky than my other Fastback. I tried to swap the clip from my main Fastback and it just doesn't fit properly. Very unfortunate as I really wanted to like this knife, and willingly paid the premium for it, but it disappoints.
