Rated 1 out of 5 by from This valve does not work. The valve seat is rough to the touch and the flapper is too light to hold itself down on the seat. It leaks at a rate of about an inch per hour from the tank into the bowl.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lousy rubber flange gasket or "washer" as they refer to it. Took me a bit to track the leak, but when I figured it out, I used the one from the unit I was replacing on the inside of the tank, and the new new on the outside to get a little extra tension without snapping anything. Seems to be holding now. A little plumber's putty might have been helpful, but shouldn't really be necessary.

should the moen flush valve leak after hand tightning?

I screwed the flush valve onto the tank (hand tight) and checked to see if there was any water leaking. (before I screwed the tank onto the toilet with the gasket.) jThe flush valvle leaked. Should the flush leak or should the gasket between the tank the toilet stop the leaking? To stop the leaking, I tried to tighten the bolt with a wrench, but it still leaked. The flush valve was brand new from HD. Any suggestions? thank you

The couple gasket (one between the tank and bowl) is only intended to keep water from leaking at that point, not between the inside of the tank and the value. I had the same problem, and as per my review, I ended up using the one from the old valve on the inside, and the new one turned the other way on the outside for extra tension.
