The vinyl is thick and sturdy, and the lid is tight fitting. We had already purchased the kit with all the stuff to convert a container to a rain barrel. The kit required drilling 3 holes, the Brute 44 did not crack, dent, crease or folded during or after the drilling. We bought the Brute 44 in July, which took it through our Texas heat. We believe the container will hold up even if we have a rare hard winter. If we were to have a rare hard freeze this winter we will make sure it is empty of water – a common sense thing to do.

Due to the longevity and durability of these barrels, homeowners should strongly consider purchasing one of these over a standard steel or cheap plastic barrel. Unlike many of the residential-type barrels, these barrels will not puncture, tear or dent. One of the best features is that the lids continue to fit and lock into place even after substantial use and abuse. In addition, their more stable and slightly heavier construction makes it less likely that these barrels will blow into the street after being emptied. This will be the last barrel you ever have to buy for your home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong I purchased this can for yard cleanup. It is very durable, but it is a handful. Great for small limbs and branches. The can is suppose to make bag removal easy by eliminating the vacuum effect and even has bag grabbers on both handles for bag support. The ad shows bags which would be useful for the vented can idea. I could not find any so I called Rubbermaid. They referred me to #5008-88. That proved to be about $190.00 for 200 bags with 2 mil density. No smaller count. These bags are basically proprietary as they are a custom design for the shape of the can (74" diameter at the top). I resorted to 55 gal Contractor Bags, they are tight across the top, but they were the only ones I could find that were close to fitting and working with vented can feature and of course I can not use the bag grabber feature. The can has a vented lid which is really surface channels to run water off the top of the lid, not sure if this is useful.

Not rubber. Heavy pliable rubber-plastic like material, very heavy gauge. Can has channels molded into the inside walls to help eliminate vacuum effect. Can has channels on exterior of lid to eliminate water.

can this trash can be put on dolly that is made just for trash cans.

Here are the measurements from the specifications: width = 24.5 inches, Assembled Height = 33 inches Take into consideration the follow; Determine if the base of the dolly is deep and wide enough for the base of this trash, and will the dolly accommodate the height so you can safely and comfortablely move the trash can. Because of the size of this trash can it will be heavy so, even if it fits the dolly, you should have some kind of strap that will steady it on the dolly.

About how many 13 gal trash bags (filled with trash) will this hold?

In answer to your question the answer is......" ... a whole bunch". This is one of those questions which has no finite answer. One 13-gallon bag might have more volume than the succeeding 13gallon bag making this difficult to answer. Then again if you mash or force a bunch of your 13-gallon bags you then have more bags in a 44-gallon Brute container...get the point?
