Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyer beware of this product I purchased 20 bags from local HD. The bag says "3-in-1 garden mix", not "Triple Mix" as on the website. Inside the bag, there is minimum soil inside. most of the stuff is black wood chips, branches and other sort of garbage. This is no where near the quality of Triple mix from any other stores. even the $1/bag top soil is better than this. This one doesn't even deserve 1 star. I only used this as top soil because i didnt want to go back to the store. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from disgusted i bought 5 bags of this and 5 bags of vigoro black top soil to top up my vegetable garden. the product is infested with pink worms. they destroyed my garden in a matter of 3 days. i saw that the worms came out at dawn, so i spray them. the next day i noticed that more appeared. there were literally hundreds of worms and it took me an hour to spray them all. i'm sure there are lots more that will appear the next day. totally disgusted by the poor quality of this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Avoid this triple mix, unless you like mushrooms! Bought 20+ bags for the peppers and tomatoes. Soil contains lots of sticks and small rocks. Thought okay it's got organic matter so should be good. Wrong! As in other reviews the peppers and tomatoes I started from seeds did not grow in the three weeks they were in this soil and leaves were turning yellow. Also everywhere we had this soil mushrooms were popping up. After replanting in new better soil the plants started to come back but for the entire month of July they did not grow. My pepper and tomato harvest this year will be very limited as a result. I wish I could give zero stars.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not recommended I bought 50+ bags of this so called triple mix for my new beds in May-June - As expresses in some negative reviews there is very little soil and dense with sticks and other mulch like stuff and siblings never took off healthy - very stunted growth - Will never buy this again and finding ways to correct the situation - Check the soil pictures - The siblings in the pictures are > 45 days in Vigoro soil ...and now replanted with another brand regular Garden soil ...need to see if it will work -

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst product out there I bought this 2 months ago to top up my planter boxes... worst product ever. I have weeds that are uncontrollable. I went back to the store to complain i was told to call Vigoro, this is not possible because the contact information is Home Depot... I went back and spoke to the department supervisor and her reply was "oh thats too bad" ... I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone for anything unless you like to pull weeds all summer long.

is this triple mix good for clay soil ?

Asked by: rvjb20
Yes. If you are mixing with existing soil and have adequate drainage it is great for the roots and thus a healthy base. After construction on our street, we were left with dense grey clay in our front lawn, several bags of Vigoro into our front garden has served as an oasis of colour year round.

Is this good for making a brand new grass. I have zero grass on my backyard and i am going to make a nice grass lawn. Please let me know if this is good or do i need to any other soil as well

Asked by: Sreejith
Hello Sreejith, Yes, you can. Apply 2-3 in of Vigoro the garden soil to the top of the desired planting area. Torotill or use a shovel to mix into the top 4-6 in of native soil. Level the soil area. Plant seeds or plants according to directions. Water thoroughly after planting and then daily until established.

How many bags of this do I need for a box that is 4ft long 2ft wide and 6 inches deep. Thanks.

Asked by: Ognirrats
Sorry, this depends if you already have any other materials in your bed. Are you using only this? If all you're using is this, I'd say start with 8. That way when it compacts, you have some for topping up. But quite frankly, I'd order 4 of these, 2 sea soils, and 2 composts. You didn't say what you're playing, but this is a good mix for veg, flowers, etc.

What's the ratio of humus : sphagnum : compost?

Asked by: Almosthere
It doesn't tell you the ratio anywhere on the bag. Just says a great mix, maybe they intentionally don't tell you so competitors can't copy it, I don't know.
