Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent, screw-free look Used the Camo Marksman Pro tool and the Camo 1 7/8 fasteners this past weekend to resurface my 200 sq. ft. deck with 5/4 x 6 cedar, and I have to say, I'm very impressed. The tool is fast and foolproof, and the attachment of the deck boards is tight and strong. The finished screw-free look of the wood is stunning. My only critique is that the tool can't be used on the first board near a structure, like the house, or the riser on a stair stringer, or step overhang, but other than that, it's excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A well designed, and efficient jig. This is an excellent tool; easy, smooth and fast to use. I used 2 x 6 cedar on treated lumber for my deck. The decking needs to be consistent in width with no variation since the jig is very exacting. (My decking was not, so there were some problems, and I don't know if variation in width is typical of all natural wood products.) We'll see how well it stands the test of time as far as holding ability. My new deck looks great though!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Tool for Hidden Deck Fastening The CAMO Marksman PRO Tool is a great choice for fastening your deck boards. I purchased 2 to help speed up the process. They works great. I would recommend the version with less of a spacing gap, but even this one works fine if you like a bit more space between boards. It’s not a bad thing. Also CAMO has a new tool that works with a drill and you can stand up. Work can go much faster. I’d recommend taking a look at all CAMO products. They are great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Invaluable Deck-Building Tool I just finished a 240 sq ft deck using the Camp Marksman Pro tool. It's easy to use and produced a neat and tidy look. There's no board splitting when you use this tool and now unsightly and tough wood screw to deal with. The tool takes a bit more time (needs proper positioning and screw loading) but the end product more than justifies the extra time spent. This was a great buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Camo hidden fastener tool I must say I really like this tool as it’s so easy to use that my 7year could do it and on top that it creates a really nice clean finish, with no screws popping out. The tool itself is made with real good quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from camo review Great time saver but needs a little practice to get going. Get a good driver for the screws. Very expensive compared to normal screws

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Marksman pro tool Excellent product, the carpenter helping me build my deck bought two of them off of me when the project was completed. Works great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product. No screw Mark's in new deck Just built a 700 sq foot deck. This system worked flawlessly and left a smooth deck surface unlike what top screws would have done

Asked by: Mak41
Proprietary torx headed green screws in two lengths - 1-7/8” and 2-1/4”, I believe.

Can you go wider than 3/16" for board spacing with the Camo Marksman? Thanks

Asked by: Dannie
It's actually 1/4 and that is perfect

Can you the 3/16" board spacing be adjusted to a wider spacing? Thank you

Asked by: Dannie
If you used bigger spacer separately you probably could. I found after the deck board fully dried and shrank over time the gaps got a bit wider anyway and I don’t think it want them any wider than they are now.

Can you use the Camo Marksman when you have deck boards slanted at 30 degrees to the house? Or does this only work when the decking is either horizontal or perpendicular to the house?

Asked by: Beekeeper
Yes, you can. However, it’s going to take a lot longer as you’ll lose some of the benefits from the tool. Chances are your joists are still running horizontal or perpendicular to your house. Meaning that when you lay your deck boards at 30 degrees and line up the tool to the joist, only 1 screw will hit the joist.  So then once you put that screw in, you’ll have to move the tool over and put the screw in on the other side of the board. It basically will take you twice as long. If time isn’t an issue, it’s well worth it as it’s great seeing a deck without screws. Hope this helps!

My deck boards will be cedar 1.5 inches thick by 5.5 inches wide, will this work for me? I already bought it and will be using it when I get home on September 4th. I also bought the 17/8" screws but will likely have to return them for the 23/8" screws?

Asked by: NewDeck2373
Yes it sure will
