Rated 5 out of 5 by from Six feet of leveled surface I was installing doors using a four foot level, and it just didn't seem to be going as well as I wanted it to. I threw down my tools, hopped in my truck, headed to Home Depot, and picked up this bad boy. Guess what? This level verified that I did just fine with my four foot level. However, it made the next couple of doors easier to install, and now I have a six foot level added to my tool collection. The level is really nice. It's very strong while being light weight. I tend to like I-Beam levels more, but my local Home Depot didn't have any in-store. But it's not this level's fault; it didn't choose to be born a box level, and it does the job just as well.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from confused why this model is offered I have used Empire Levels for 11 years now, in the past Home Depot near me carried the E75 series in store, recently I had to purchase a new one and realized immediately the model in store looked identical to the E75 but was much lighter. I’ve discovered there is no comparison between the 2, the 650 series is significantly less quality. Home Depot carries the E75 series on line for $3 more. When paying $70, it doesnt make sense to carry or offer both. Please stop offering this 650 series.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have owned many levels over the years, from steel framed to plastic. One had a built-in light,... [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned many levels over the years, from steel framed to plastic. One had a built-in light, which was great, except the battery always went dead when I grabbed that level - and who carries tiny batteries. This level is one of the best I've owned. It's big 6-foot, so you're not going to use this to level a picture on the wall. I'm amazed by its light weight (probably one of the lightest I've owned), especially for its length. Happy with its construction, aluminum for a good edge but a (blue) composite for the sides. All my other levels are an open construction, so you can grab them anywhere; this one has two grab holes. At first I thought that wouldn't work for me, but as I used the level I just seemed to grab it where the holes were. The best part of this level are the high visibility "bubbles", where you look to determine whether the work out of level. Using this level at dusk (when the light was fading) I was pleasantly surprised to be able to see the gauge with great clarity. For what it's worth, mine was delivered. The cardboard shipping box is perfect way to store the level.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WORST on the market. Go with Stabila. STAY AWAY from Empire levels. Gen. Contractor here of over 30 years. Go with Stabila and be done with it. Our Empire was in perfect shape and never dropped. Yet I showed a client how it gave different readings each time with held up to the same, stable place (and no, the vials weren't loose). Empire is junk.
