Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy installation for exoerienced DYI type Bought these for a 27' x12' x 7' high basement, suspended ceiling. Most difficulty was trying to find out how many to use. Manufacturer's website or contact was no help. Ultimately, I bought 1 and installed it to judge the light coverage. Used 8 in this room and installed them in ceiling tiles. It was perfect and I love the look. You need some competence with electrical work. I didn't have a hole saw so I marked holes with a compass and cut holes delicately with a utility knife from the front face of the tile. Since these can't be serviced, I plan to keep a couple of spares in case of future, premature failure (they are made in China) and the product being discontinued.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Excellent lights. Easy to install. I nstalled these lights in a small reno on a kitchen. I recommend them and installed them in my own kitchen 12 months ago. No issues yet and dont expect any. Very simple and straight forward. Follow the instructions and easy to install. You can use a hole saw with recommended Drill size 4 1/4" to 4 1/2. I used 4 1/2". Hers a tip..Start the pilot bit in forward until the hole saw meets the ceiling. Switch the drill setting to reverse and make your hole. They look great. Lots of light. Installed a dimmer and I have no reservations recommending.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hard to find compatible dimmer Bought these last week and installed.installation was easy. I bought 2 of the same kits, though the length of the wires in the 2 boxes differed. One box had longer wires which will make the hook-up of lights to boxes easier. Bought a 2 pack of Leviton dimmer switches (6674), and the lights are dimming and brightening on their own, without moving the dimmer itself. This indicates the dimmer switch is incompatible. The suggested dimmer switches are difficult to find and some are quite expensive.

They are of lesser quality than the ones previously purchased and the lighting is slightly different from the older ones. I find this happens regularly with Home Depot products: they change to a lesser quality and don’t blend well with older products purported to be the same thing

The package came quickly and the lights are packaged wonderfully. The instructions are very straight forward and once we get our drywall order delivered, we'll be on our way. You never know what you're getting until you've got it in your hands, and thankfully, these are exactly what we needed. These pot lights are definitely going to breathe some new life into our kitchen.

I did discover one trick that simplified the install. Put one spring in first, then push the other into place. The springs are very strong, so not wrestling with both at once made it easier. I got that tip off the internet.

Do these come in a different kelvin rating so they are cool white? Or would I need to buy a different product for cool white, like the colour changing version?

Here are 2 different models you could find the CCT system that will allow you to have the cool white options, I-K4PROCCT4WH and I-K4DDMDPN4. Hope this can help you. I just purchased 8 4” LED pot lights that I want to daisychain. The instructions say the junction box is limited to 2 line feeds. I am assuming that this excludes the wires already in the box? The instructions do not show how to daisychain the pot lights.

Thank you for choosing Illume. The junction box can accommodate two 120V line feed. The wires in the junciton box are simply there to help you make the connection. They are not your line feed.

hi, the image on the web site seems to indicate a ceiling material thickness of 1/2". is that maximum or minimum? I have 3/4" tongue and groove, will this work?

Thank you for choosing Illume. The brackets on the fixtures can accommodate two (2) drywall thickness. You can go ahead and use it on the tongue and groove wood ceiling.

I want to install 4 of these lights in my bathroom due to a recent reno. Will they be suitable to install in a suspended ceiling. I don't want them to be so heavy that I have to affix them to wood framing about my ceiling.
