This product personifies the Makita brand hallmark, exceptional build quality and performance. Compared to the compressor it replaced, the Makita is almost an immeasurable improvement. Then there’s the whisper quietness. Bottom line, the Makita is without peer in this class of compressors. Buy it; it’s a price/performance bargain!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great, until it dies I am a homeowner that in September 2019 purchased this air compressor to keep in the garage and maintain the tire pressure on 3 vehicles. Ordered from Home Depot website and was delivered nicely and promptly. It is now January 2021 and the motor just burnt out. It has been used less than a dozen times during this time, usually for less than 15 minutes at a time. Unless It was in use, I kept it unplugged and drained. I always drained it because the hose was easier to coil without pressure. It came with a brad nailer, but it has never been opened. When I was younger, i worked construction, but we never used Makita compressors because of the price. Being retired, thought that a less noisy compeessor would be less annoying to my wife. She will be even more annoyed when she I tell her that I had to buy another compressir because the pricey Makita compressor failed Makita is very disappointing.

Super easy to use, wanted one for filling my car and truck tires. Small enough to carry for a camping trip or traveling.Very quiet as advertised. So far, I'm very pleased with my choice.

everything I've seen just says "low amp draw" do you know the actual number? wondering if I can run this out of my truck bed.
Asked by: Jay
The specification calls for a current draw of 1.8 amps at maximum pressure, which is a low number. This rating would be continuous or "steady-state," of course, at this maximum tank air-pressure. The motor's "inrush," start-up amperage would be an instantaneous peak amount and higher, of course, but not likely more than 4-6 amps or so. There is no published spec on that amount, but it should not put any stress on a normal 120 volt, 60 Hz circuit or from a generator or AC inverter with clean output power. This should run fine from the inverter circuit in a truck that can put out 5-15 amps of power at 120 volts AC and 60 Hz. This power output should be relatively clean for best performance, but this would be true of any such piece of equipment..

Can this model handle paint sprayers?

Can this model handle paint sprayers?
Asked by: Joe
In short, no. There are 2 major measurements when looking at compressors. PSI (pressure) and CFM (flow). High flow applications like sprayers need a high CFM compressor and/or a very large tank. Find the sprayer you will use, then look for it's CFM requirements. Home Depot lists the CFM rating just above the review section. Then, match a compressor to your application. A small 20oz spray gun needs about 70 PSI @ 6 CFM. This compressor does about .5CFM @ 70 PSI.

I love makita im a roofer will it keep up with me

Asked by: JRock
JRock, you really need the bigger compressor for roofing. I use this for trim and I absolutely love it. It is so quite and I even used it for framing once, but it cannot handle too much. Makita compressors I have bought for my crews are all still running, others are already in the dump. I just wished they made a battery operated one!
