Rated 2 out of 5 by from Does not work I think this design is meant to save the step of removing existing flank/ drain cap. Means saving $300 plumber bill. All I had to do was to snap the new drain cap in the sink hole over the old one. It would work only if the new pop up plunger is long enough for the rod to catch. It is not. They did not account for the quarter inch the plunger is now sitting further away from the old drain cap and the sink hole. The new plunger is also shorter than the standard one. No matter how I adjusted the rods angle it cannot catch the hole end of the plunger. You cannot use your existing plunger either since it’s is larger than the new drain cap hole! It will not drop in the drain hole. In addition the Moen drain cap only fits the sink at its edge not underneath the cap. So you will have to fill this gap with rubber or something before fill silicon or putter in, otherwise it will not sit sturdily, and not hold the water as it should when you press the plunger down. Waste of time and money. Moen offers to ship a replacement with a brand new kit. What is the use.
