Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected I was just expecting a regular laser level I broke the Black & decker I had and needed one fast so I got this one and it is light years better than what I was using. No more measuring angles with this thing it takes all the guess work out of the job. I even used it to figure stringers for my a set of steps using the laser as a square and it works great. The angles on it are perfect and the levels on the tool are exact. My old one was off on the vertical bubble and I would have to check it with a four foot square. If the light lasts on this It will be a tool I won't part with. I would have liked a small case with it but for now it will be in a B&D case that has been recently emptied.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good laser level I've been using this laser level for almost 4 years now and have been very happy with it. I like that it has the two tabs that can press into drywall without making too much of a mark. The suction cups do not work well. I've not had any luck with them. I usually just use the pins that come with it and don't have any issues. The laser is a nice and bright. It could be a little brighter though. I used this to hang pictures at a perfect angle going up my stairwell. Overall, I like this laser level and it does meet my expectations. Please hit thumbs up if this was helpful.

For my first time using this product I used it to level four wall cabinets over a 16 ft long span with break in between cabinet 2-3 for range hood. Once I established level point and shot the laser down the wall it worked perfectly. Great tool for 'non-critical' leveling jobs. The reason I say 'non-critical' is that the 'point' on the front could have been a little more precise [less rounded] to aid in lining up with mark on wall. The bubble in viewing glass also could be 'tightened up' a bit to allow more precise leveling. I had to use a 4 ft. conventional level to make sure the first four feet were level so it could then extend the laser line further down the wall. Great tool for the price.

They DON'T extend past the mounting block enough to really make a firm contact with the wall! It's ridiculous how something so simple is made more difficult than it needs to be. When you try to press the suction cups firmly, it will shift the level out of place so you have to start over again. Then the suction cups don't hold so the entire device falls off the wall. In the pic I have the suction cup fully compressed as far it'll go and that is NOT sufficient to make complete contact with the wall.

Once I got this thing it kept amazing me, 1) its multi surface wood / metal / drywall...its gonna stick to them all. 2) it comes with a protractor attachment to get those pesky angles! Its just great addition to you collection!!! Also if you use this in conjunction with the Ryobi stud finder...you cant go wrong with that one two (everything is level) punch!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great for me. I love this laser level, it works great for me, but I to don't like how easy the push pins are to loose. I haven't lost one yet but mine seem to want to bend a little when trying to push them in a wall, I did find that cork board push pins will work as well, but so far all is good for me. I feel the protractor read out should be in black text because it's hard to see clear on clear, I had no other issues that I have read about others having.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What can I say about Ryobi that hasn't been said... What can I say about Ryobi that hasn't been said by many other people. This is an excellent product from an excellent company and I think they think about the average user when they are making items. I love the fact that this multi-surface laser level can be used without any hands and it just makes the work you have to do that much easier to get done. I don't have to have somebody take time out of their schedule to help me hang a shelf I have this hooked up and then my hands are free. And the laser lines it up so I don't have any crooked shelves are pictures on the wall lol. I love RyObi and I will be buying many more products items from this company

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well first, I came home from a deployment with a divorce waiting on me. I moved out and had to figure out a lot of "around the house" things, hanging curtains, fixing leaks. I'm horrible when it comes to hanging things, so I tried to "eye" what i was hanging and it just didn't look right so I did my research and narrowed it down to this model. I'm so glad I did. I now consider myself a non-professional, professional hanger of things that can look crooked. Thank you Ryobitools for making a small part my life, easier. This helped me realize that I can do things without help.. 🙂

Is this self-leveling?
Asked by: DW
No. But if you use the protractor that comes with it and a simple torpedo level, you'll get perfect results every time. Use adhesive putty instead of the pins and you won't have to put holes in your walls. And it is just my opinion (I could be wrong), but if you want self leveling, you need to spend more than an extra $10. You will not be pleased with the ones you see in that $29-$39 range. They just aren't accurate. I've used some of the "3-1's" and they all have issues. If you want self leveling, bite the bullet and look at the $50+ models. Otherwise, this level will do just about anything the average homeowner needs, including flooring.

It uses pins to attach to the wall, so it won't work on concrete unless you rig something up.

Can this tool be used to get a straight line to lay laminate planks on the floor?

Asked by: JLynn
Yes if you can figure out how to make it stay. The options are built in storage push pins or suction cups. You might need to get creative for it to hold place, like using maybe painters tape to keep it in place.
