Rated 5 out of 5 by from DO NOT WELD ALUMINUM WITHOUT THIS KIT I have been using my welder like a mig for steel on aluminum and it has been very difficult. With the steel set up, aluminum will bunch up at the feeding wheels and you will have to cut and pull out the mess then pull the wire from the cable. The kit is a huge time saver and also saves lots of wire from being wasted. The kit does seem very expensive for just a liner, wheel, few tips and an extra roll of wire, but try welding aluminum without it and you will be back on here hitting the check-out button. This kit will make your little welder weld just as good as a spool gun without the weight of holding up the spool gun and getting it to tight places.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Aluminum Feeding Kit Not hard to install, had a little trouble with the non-metallic cable liner making the bend at the handle. After the install, it took me a few days to get the hang of it, but it all changed when I exchanged the gas to 100% Argon. Over all I would recommend this kit over any other expensive kit, unless you plan to do a lot of aluminum welding. This kit was installed on a Weld Pack 100 Purchased at Home Depot around 10 years ago, and this welder is now even more versatile with this Aluminum Feeding Kit.

I was skeptical at first that this was all I needed. I thought there was some special set up or re-working the electrical configuration of my Lincoln MIG welder to weld aluminum. However, that was not the case. Carefully install this kit (FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS), a tank of 100% ARGON and I was making very nice puddles and beads with aluminum. Yes, aluminum is tricky. You don't have a wide of a range of wire feed speed and power that you have with mild steel or even stainless. It takes some practice on some aluminum scrap to get the settings right.

Med strengh with my machine only weldpak 100 . 100 percent Argon and c 9 setting welding 3/16 - 1/4 material . Tested in vise it passed welds did not break and bent parent material .

(anyone can weld with one) I bought mine at Home Depot and I am 100% happy with everything it does. Now that Lincoln has come up with this Aluminum Feeding Kit I can't tell you how great this kit is...... It's like not having to have a welding shop do your Aluminum welding and not having to buy a TIG welder so you really save by adding this to your Lincoln Electric wire feed MIG. So buy a Lincoln Wire feed welder and this kit at Home Depot. And it will pay for itself ! Mine did !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Takes time to learn how to weld aluminum. Great price to switch over to weld aluminum. Very easy install. Here is the best TIP. When you are ready to weld UNSPIN the SPOOL (6 or 8 spins just before it starts to unrap off the spool) so the welder does not have to pull the wire off the spool with tension. Do this and then you will NOT have to have the line to the gun perfectly straight.

The kit comes with a liner that requires removing and replacing the liner in the current gun. If you would like to weld steel after aluminum then prepare to spend another thirty to forty minutes to change the liner back. Also if you think you are just going to buy another gun and cable by the time all the money is spent your about twenty bucks away from the much faster and easier spool gun. Go with the spool gun instead.

I had constant problems with bird-nesting and burn back; I finally ordered this kit and the difference is night and day. The instructions are easy to follow and the kit includes everything you need. Yes, it's some-what of a band-aid in lieu of a proper setup, but it's adequate and inexpensive for small projects.

can i weld aluminum with argon 75% carbon dioxide 25%

Sort of, but it will look like crap and likely break. This kit comes with innershield wire, which doesn't require gas at all and will give you decent results. No need for gas.

will this fit my weld pak 125hd?

i bought this as the homedepo website list my weldpak 125HD to work with this kit. the instructions are showing a different drive unit? the roller seem to be smaller than what is inplace already so im abit confused. is there a way to use this? will even the gun liner fit or am i out 85$? thanks for the replys back

For the 140 you can get a spool gun that plugs right in . On ebay for around 200 . Yes I think this kit will work on 140 machine all it is is Teflon Liner and new roller .

Aluminum Spool guns or other kits for Handy Mig?

Does Lincoln make any spool guns or similar feed kits like this that can be used with a K2185 Handy Mig welder? I have some very small aluminum welding projects to do and own the handy mig and if there are any accessories that might help to weld aluminum with the Handy Mig would appreciate the advice..
