The Home Depot Canada Foundation believes that good neighbours make great neighbourhoods. The Foundation is dedicated to sharing our time, knowledge and resources to support affordable housing and build strong communities for Canadians in need. Our Primary focus is supporting initiatives that directly benefit homeless youth, by providing access to safe, stable housing and support services.
As such, we provide support to Canadian registered charities who share our commitment to building strong communities and helping homeless and vulnerable youth through two grant programs:
1. Community Impact Grants - provides registered Canadian charities with funding for affordable housing and community based improvement projects that benefit Canadians in need. Our primary focus is on supporting initiatives that prevent and end youth homelessness. As such, preference will be given to repair, renovation and/or improvement projects to housing and/or other support facilities (i.e. employment services) for homeless youth.
Maximum Grant: $10,000 (cash and/or The Home Depot gift card)
Application deadline: Applications are accepted year-round for this program.
Eligible Projects include but are not limited to: small-scale renovation and repair projects and programs that benefit vulnerable youth and affordable housing and neighbourhood improvement projects that involve rebuilding, repairing, painting, refurbishing, landscaping, and planting.
The Community Impact Grant application process is temporarily closed for system changes.
2. The Orange Door Project Grant Program - provides funding to Canadian registered charities making repairs, refurbishments and/or modifications to a housing accommodation or other support facility that benefits homeless youth.
Maximum Grant: Up to $50,000 cash

Eligible Projects include but are not limited to: window replacement, weatherizing, painting, enhancements to the outdoor landscape (i.e. trees, gardens, seating areas), lighting or fixture upgrade projects, insulation improvements, small kitchen or washroom renovations.
The Home Depot Canada Foundation supports the development of affordable housing and community improvement projects that make lasting physical improvements to the neighbourhoods we serve. Our primary focus is to support housing initiatives that benefit homeless youth.
Organizations and projects that meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply:

Due to the high volume of requests we receive, our policy is to have all proposals submitted using our online application form. We ensure that every proposal is assessed on its merits, and evaluated based on our funding criteria. Should we have additional questions about it, we will contact you directly to discuss it further.
The dollar amount of a grant depends on the funding required for the specific project. Grants issued through our Community Impact Grants Program generally do not exceed $10,000 and grants issued through our The Orange Door Project grant program are a maximum of $50,000 each.
