Gas Cooktop/Range Installation

Yes, your countertop will need to be pre-cut before your scheduled installation.

Please make sure that you check all the specifications of your new gas cooktop/range to ensure that it is compatible with your existing gas line. 

Most gas lines that are less than 48 inches long are ½ inch in size. However, this can vary based on the size of your gas cooktop/range.

If you are not sure about the size of your gas line, please speak with your installer before scheduling your installation. 

Home Depot installers are certified and licensed, which can give you peace of mind about the safety of your gas cooktop/range installation. Also, any damages to your new gas cooktop/range that may occur when self-installing are not covered by the 1-year warranty of your appliance.

In most cases, your installation can be completed in 2 hours or less.

No. Our installers will disconnect your old gas cooktop/range before installing the new one.  

No. Delivery and installation services are arranged and scheduled separately from each other. If haul away is purchased without installation, your old gas cooktop/range will be taken away or moved when the new one is delivered.

The installer will contact you via text message within 24 hours of completing your order to schedule your gas cooktop/range installation. Please take your delivery time into account when scheduling your installation appointment. 

If the appliance arrives with visible damage, ask the delivery agent about the Save the Delivery process. Once explained, if this is not something that is acceptable to you, we recommend that you refuse the delivery and indicate ‘refused due to damage’ on the bill of lading (BOL).

Otherwise, you have up to 48 hours from time of delivery to notify The Home Depot at 1-800-759-2054 of any concealed damage. If you notice a defect (not damage) in the appliance after the 48 hours, this becomes a warranty issue.

The appliance comes with a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty. In addition, you may choose to purchase an Extended Service Plan at any time within the first year.
