For your convenience, The Home Depot offers delivery and basic over the range microwave installation service with your online over the range microwave order. This service is for customers who are either:

✔ Replacing an existing over-the-range microwave in the same location, or

✔ Getting a new one installed at a site that has already been fully fitted to accommodate an over-the-range microwave. 

What’s Included?

Installation Includes:

✔ Un-packaging
✔ Disconnecting the existing over-the-range microwave
✔ Drilling where side-mounting is necessary and possible
✔ Installation of the new over-the-range microwave within the same opening as the old one, including connecting it to existing electrical outlets
✔ Installation of an anti-tip bracket if it is supplied with the appliance
✔ Testing to verify the new over-the-range microwave is properly grounded; and to ensure the new unit is in proper working order
✔ Testing to ensure proper operation and hanging of gas tag as required
✔ 1-year labour warranty

Installation Does Not Include:

  • Our Installers will not make any modifications to existing structures, electrical work, countertops or cabinetry to accommodate your new over-the-range microwave. 
  • Haul away and disposal of your old over-the-range microwave are not included unless purchased separately.
  • Mileage expenses may apply if your installation requires over 50 km travel from the store.

If you need your new over-the-range microwave installed in a location not previously set up for one, you will likely require electrical work beyond the scope of our Basic Over-the-Range Microwave Installation service.

What to Expect?

There are 2 ways to get your new Over the Range Microwave installed.

1 Select Product and Service

  • Shop homedepot.ca and select your over-the-range microwave.
  • Check the box under “Get It Installed,” select an installation option and make sure you’ve entered the correct postal code.
  • Click “Add To Cart”, then complete your order

2 Schedule Installation

  • Within 24 hours of completing your order, the installer will contact you via text message to schedule installation.
  • Please ensure that your installation is scheduled after your delivery date.
  • For a quick response to any questions/concerns related to your installation, send an SMS text to 84322 (standard text and data rates may apply) or visit our Contact Us page to chat with an associate.

3 Product Delivery

  • You will be notified about your delivery window after 4pm the day before your delivery.
  • You will receive a call up to 30 minutes prior to your delivery.
  • The delivery agent will unbox the appliance upon delivery.
  • The delivery team will dispose of all your packaging.

Please note: The delivery team is not equipped to install your over-the-range microwave. For small appliances, direct delivery may be offered. If so, a tracking number will be provided, and delivery will not be handled by a delivery agent, as mentioned above.

4 Installation

  • The installer will arrive at the scheduled time to install your new over-the-range microwave.
  • They will disconnect your old over-the-range microwave if required and install the new one in its place.
  • They will perform a cleanup and inspection, then advise on proper usage and maintenance for your new over-the-range microwave.
