Each of your 2x4 boards should be cut to a length of 13 inches. Cut a 45-degree mitre at the end of each 2x4. You’ll need 4 pieces cut like this. The backboard can be cut to 17-3/8 inches long.

  3. Step 3 Drill Bottle Holes

    Man drilling into wood

On each of your short pieces, mark two-centred points 4-6/8 inches from the long ends of each 2x4. Drill holes for the bottlenecks at these points, using a 1-1/4 inch Forstner bit. Remember to protect your workspace with a piece of disposable wood underneath the board you’re drilling!

  4. Step 4 Assemble Rack

    Man gluing wood together

Tape the end mitres together and glue the ends. Drill pilot holes, then attach these pieces with 2-1/2-inch screws.

  5. Step 5 Drill Backboard Hanger
