There is no cost to become a Local Pro or to remain with the program. However, you will need to complete an annual background check, which costs $65 to complete. Your compliance records then remain on file. If you’re non-compliant, you will not receive leads.

• Since landscaping services do not require a trade licence, you will not need one to become a landscaping Local Pro.
• All Local Pros are required to show proof of insurance coverage ($1 million minimum), as well as WSIB/WCB/NEST coverage where applicable, upon applying to the program.
• All Local Pros are required to complete and pass a background check, which must be renewed annually in order to remain in the program.

Pros who have signed up for multiple services will not need to complete more than one background check. It does, however, need to be renewed annually.

• As a Pro Xtra member, you earn credits every time you shop at The Home Depot, in store or online. These points allow you to continue to generate leads for new jobs.
• At any time, you can choose to stop receiving leads (or resume if you have stopped) if you wish to save your credits for another time.

You can add as many landscaping services as you like, as long as you are qualified and available to provide them.

• As long as you’ve completed your background check and meet the relevant professional requirements, you can sign up as a Local Pro for up to 2 occupations.
