  • For your convenience, Home Depot stores open early and close late seven days a week. Please use our Store Finder to find the hours of operation of a store near you.

What is The Home Depot Canada’s animal policy?
  • The Home Depot Canada follows a strict no animals in-store policy. The safety of our customers and associates is our number one priority. Certified service animals are an exception to this policy and are welcome in our stores.

What is certified reconditioned merchandise?
  • Returned merchandise that has been tested and warranty certified by a third party service centre to meet new equipment specifications. This merchandise is usually offered at savings of 20% - 40% off the regular retail price. Full warranty and free return policy apply to reconditioned merchandise. Note: Reconditioned merchandise damaged or lost in transit may not be replaced depending on availability of items in like condition. Where the merchandise is eligible for return, refunds will be provided in such cases. Store prices may vary from online prices. Inventory levels of reconditioned merchandise cannot be guaranteed.

What kind of free Workshops do you have and where can I get a list of current classes?
  • Workshops are offered in every store, at no charge. Each store has an updated schedule. Classes range from "Applying Wallpaper" to "Tuning Up Your Mower for Spring." Click here to view Workshop Calendar.

What and when are your Kids Workshops?
  • Kids Workshops are free and held in all Home Depot stores. Children, along with their parents, construct projects from pre-fabricated kits. Is Home Depot a franchise? Can I own a Home Depot store?
  • No. At the present time all Home Depot stores are company owned and operated. To date we have never franchised our stores.

How is The Home Depot Canada managing the penny phase-out?
  • When the federal government announced it was phasing out the penny in 2012, The Home Depot carefully reviewed the requirements to make sure it would continue to meet the needs of its customers. While the penny will retain its value indefinitely, beginning February 4, 2013, pennies will no longer be circulated. The Home Depot Canada is committed to doing the right thing, every day. As of February 4, 2013, when our customers use cash to pay for an item we will always round down to the nearest nickel. When applying cash returns, we will always round up to the nearest nickel. Non-cash payments such as debit or credit cards will continue to be settled to the cent.
