Home Energy Assessment Stream for Bundled Upgrades

Savings on energy efficiency home upgrades from Enbridge Gas and Save on Energy.

Looking to complete multiple upgrades? Start with a home energy assessment and save with rebates when you complete two or more of the following upgrades: insulation, windows and doors, heat pump water heaters, and air sealing.

Maximum Total Rebates Available for the Assessment Stream

  • $5,000 maximum rebate for homes primarily heated with Enbridge Natural Gas
  • $10,000 maximum rebate for homes primarily heated with electricity, propane, oil, or wood and connected to the Ontario electricity grid1.
  • Maximum rebates include $600 for the home energy assessments and apply for the life of the program

Home Energy Assessment Stream Rebates

  • Attic insulation - up to $1,250
  • Foundation insulation - up to $3,600
  • Exposed floor insulation - up to $300
  • Exterior wall insulation - up to $3,600
  • Air sealing - up to $250
  • Window and Doors - $100 per rough opening
  • Heat Pump Water Heater - up to $500

The rebates above are applicable to the bundled assessment stream only. Heat pump water heaters must be on Natural Resource Canada's list of eligible products. Windows and doors must be ENERGY STAR® certified.

Bundle and Save!

To receive rebates on insulation, heat pump water heaters, windows and doors, and air sealing, follow these steps.

  1. Visit the Home Renovation Savings webpage to find out what rebates you may qualify for and to view a list of participating Service Organizations.
  2. Complete a home energy assessment using a Registered Energy Advisor from an approved Service Organization and receive a customized report.
  3. Improve your home's efficiency by completing at least two qualifying upgrades. The Home Depot’s Home Services team can assist with insulation, air sealing, window, door, and water heater upgrades.
  4. Complete a final assessment with the same Registered Energy Advisor within 180 days or by Dec 31, 2025, whichever comes first.
  5. Your Registered Energy Advisor will apply for your rebates, which will be sent to you by cheque.

No Home Energy Assessment Stream for Single Upgrades

Savings on energy efficiency home upgrades from Enbridge Gas and Save on Energy.

Want to skip the home energy assessment? Get a rebate for each of the following upgrades: cold climate air source heat pump, ground source heat pump2, solar and storage3, or smart thermostat.

Home Energy Assessment Stream Rebates

  • Heat Pumps - up to $2,000/ton (depending on type and heating source)
  • Smart Thermostats - $100
  • Solar panels and battery storage – up to $10,000 3

Heat Pump Rebates

  1. Visit the Home Renovation Savings web page to confirm your eligibility and to receive a list of participating contractors.
  2. Choose a participating contractor to work with. The contractor will help you choose the best heat pump for your home and will submit all required documentation on your behalf.
  3. Once your application is approved after the installation of your heat pump, your rebate will be sent to you by cheque.

Thermostat Rebates

Instant rebate (In-store only)

  1. Visit the Home Renovation Savings Program website to confirm eligibility and apply for your rebate barcode.
  2. Visit your local Home Depot store and select a qualifying smart thermostat.
  3. At checkout, scan the barcode provided when you applied, and the rebate will be automatically applied to your purchase. Taxes are applied to the pre-rebate price.

Post-purchase rebate (Online & In-store)

  1. Visit the Home Renovation Savings Program website to confirm eligibility.
  2. Purchase a qualifying smart thermostat in-store or online.
  3. Submit your application on the Home Renovation Savings Program website within 60 days of purchase to apply for your rebate and upload a copy of your receipt.
  4. Enbridge Gas customers will receive their rebate as a bill credit, while participants who heat or cool with electricity will get a cheque.

Attic Insulation Upgrades without a Home Energy Assessment

Homeowners in eligible homes who upgrade their attic insulation with a participating contractor such as The Home Depot may be eligible for a rebate of up to $1,250 without a Home Energy Assessment and without bundling other upgrades.

The offer is available to Enbridge Gas Customer with an active account and primarily heat their home with a natural gas furnace or boiler OR be connected to the Ontario electricity grid and heat their home with electricity, oil, propane, or wood (except Cornwall Electric)3.

Attic Insulation Rebates

  1. Visit the Home Renovation Savings web page to confirm your eligibility and to receive a list of participating contractors (including The Home Depot).
  2. Submit a lead with The Home Depot’s Home Services team for a free consultation. Our service team will help you identify the best insulation options for your home and will submit all required documentation on your behalf.
  3. Once your application is approved after the installation of your insulation, your rebate will be sent to you by cheque.

Post-Purchase Appliance Rebates

Save energy and money with ENERGY STAR® appliance rebates from Save on Energy!

Rebates are available on select products in the following categories:

  • Heat pump clothes dryer (ENERGY STAR Most Efficient) - $200
  • Clothes washer (ENERGY STAR Most Efficient) - $75 
  • Induction stove (ENERGY STAR) - $150
  • Dishwasher (ENERGY STAR Most Efficient) - $25 
  • Fridge (ENERGY STAR Most Efficient) - $50 
  • Freezer (ENERGY STAR Most Efficient) - $50

Customers must apply for rebates after purchase; price is not discounted at point of sale. Customers are limited to two (2) rebates per category.

  2. Purchase your qualifying product online on in store at The Home Depot and save your receipt.
  3. Apply for your rebate within 60 days of purchase through the Home Renovation Savings program.
